Stena on course for the future
Stena Line has reintroduced the renewed Stena Hollandica and Stena Britannica on the Harwich - Hook of Holland service.
Earlier this year the two RoPax vessels underwent considerable lengthening - Stena Hollandica by 52 metres and Stena Britannica by 28 metres.
Spokesman Pim de Lange said the investment confirmed the company's confidence in its North Sea routes, and ensured that the company was fully prepared for the future.
The refurbished ferries offer anenhanced onboard experience making the journey to Holland enjoyable and relaxed, with crossings costing from just £49 for a car and driver.
Onboard, the two Superferries have been completely refurbished with two restaurants, two bars, a shop, a cinema, Stena Plus lounge, onboard kennels for pets and a number of Captain Cl*** and Comfort Cl*** cabins with additional facilities.
In addition, all the mattresses in the cabins are now new, high-quality Dux mattresses, which will ensure a good night’s sleep for p***engers. It is also possible for travellers to stay connected with both WiFi and mobile phone reception during the whole crossing.
The number of cabins on each ferry has doubled to 400 and the maximum p***enger capacity has been increased to 900. As for the amount of freight units on these ships, this number has risen from 180 to 260. The total number of p***enger cars we can accommodate has gone from 60 to 170."
The investment is the largest in Stena’s history of rebuilding ships and together with the extension of its contract with Harwich International Port to 2020, reaffirms the company's commitment to its North Sea route.
